strawberry fields for summer ...

This week I got the name of my 4SQS summer quilt partner. So now I have started thinking about summer. Lots of pleasant assosiations to this season...

For some time now we have had sunny days and we have enjoyed the first sweettasting strawberries of the season. They were imported from Belgium, I think. It will still be some time before they start harvesting the strawberry fields around here. Maybe enough time to finish a tablecloth or tablerunner? Inspired by the taste of summer I had to try...

This quilt is based on a quilt by Hanne Asplin Firman in her book "Lappesprell og quiltestreker". I tried two different layouts and think I think I will go for the 2 rows. Fun, simple and large blocks 5.5". Maybe there needs to be a busy bumblebee somewhere in there?
The first taste of summer is a great appetiser, and now we want some more... Hope you all can enjoy some warm and sunny days.

Just found your blog through 4 seasons quilt swap. Love the strawberrys. I like square setting but the two coloum is nice also. It really depends on what you are going to do with it. Great blog.

Love this! The colors are perfect. Now I have a hankering for strawberries! I like your plan for the square layout, for sure it can use a bumblebee and the flowers...cute!
