My Weather forecast is coming together, 12 maverick stars inspired by Bonnie. Just love the random scrappiness. Not sure how to quilt them yet. The top is about 25"x32" and machine pieced.
And I used my new chalk pensil to mark the top (general's pastel chalk). So happy with this marker. And eager to start handquilting it.
hope you all will enjoy the rest of your weekend ....
This week I made this quilttop, starry night, inspired by Gwen Marston and Tonya. I cut into my precious cherrywood fabrics, (hand dyed suede look cotton) beautiful colors and soft to touch... I was able to purchase two of teir grab bag for crazies, over 50 pieces equivalent to two yards, this summer. Fantastic way to get a variety of colors to try out in a small quilt. Now I regret not buying more... Lovely fabric.... The top is about 21"x21", machine pieced.

I also started a second little star quilt using the same cherrywood fabrics, hand sewn over paper templates. The blocks are 8"x8". They are individually designed on a piece of paper, then the patches are numbered and cut in nine.
Very slow cloth... love to do some sewing by hand in front of the tv at night, very relaxing. Not sure how big this will be. I have some more of the dark blue background, but not much.
and here are my inspration, my very favorite stars: meet mars and venus
hope you all will enjoy the rest of your weekend ....
