It was time to finish up the lovely and warm flannel top that I put together back in september 2008. This is my warmest quilt yet; flannel top and back (Bonnie Sullivan Winter Wonderland) and Hobbs Heirloom Premium 100 % wool batting.
But in the opposite order (pinned, tied, machine quilted in the outermost rows and then hand quilted)
Warm Winter Wonderland measures 60" by 72". The bricks are 4" by 8", a mix of a fat 8 roll and some added yardage. The soft and grayed palette is calm and quiet. I watched the winter olympics in Vancouver while quilting it, witnessing the norwegian skier Marit Bjørgen collecting her gold medallion. Perfect combination! No skiing being done by me, just quilting ; )

The quilt looks warm and has a serene atmosphere, typical for Winter! Love it!
This is just beautiful! I really like the colour combo and the softness of it. All that's missing is a steamming cuppa tea.

You will never be cold again, Marit, at least not indoors! Hope to see it in Show & tell soon and maybe even touch it if my hands are super clean:-)
Beautifully done! Enjoy snuggling under it. Happy quilting!
Marit it is just beautiful! I just want to snuggle up underneath it.

Gorgeous! I love the soft colors!
It's just a lovely quilt, serene looking and with beautiful photos. How did you like hand quilting with that batting? I like the look of it and it doesn't look too puffy.
wow! and wow! firstly because it's so beautiful! and secondly because you hand quilted it. Love it!
i just noticed that this post gives the nice opportunity to directly compare (?) one of your cats: above in the header as little kitty and now there as a beautiful grown cat - lovely! they both have the sweetest faces :-)
