springing forward into spring

Today is the start of daylight saving time. Birds are singing outside and spring is finally approaching.

The Spring Fever table cloth is finished at 39" * 39". I used Hobbs fusible cotton batting and a small meander quilting. The fusible batting was a first for me, not sure I will do it again - the batting was so crinkled up in the roll, it was a struggle to get it smoothened out. I ironed the batting to the top and back in one operation. Glad I tried it out in a smaller format. The best part was to skip the pinning or basting.

I love these Narcissus flowers so much - for me speak of Easter holiday, new life, sunny days...
Wish you all a nice holiday!

I've missed a few posts and you've been so busy! I forgot it was the first day of spring this morning, but I woke up and started cleaning my kitchen. Maybe I needed to sprig clean?!

You are so right. Daffodils are the first sign of spring, though it's pouring with rain and is cold here.

Lovely little quilt.

Hi Marit:
It is always nice to learn through another's experience. I guess I have learned as we all have to take the batting out of the bag so we will all have the same problem. Thanks for sharing. I love your table topper. I am partial to blue and yellow. Happy spring(DST) to you.

I love this quilt. I must be having the same feelings as you as I think I've almost finished a "spring" quilt also.
I love daylight saving time Wish it was like this all year long.
The sun energizes me!

Hei!! Er det er selvklebende vatt?? Resultatet ble kjempefint!! Jeg driver å quilter på toppene mine til Lazy Gal Amish. Maskinquilter og river meg i håret!! Ikke spesiellt gøy..... AnneK:-/

Very pretty quilt, and the flowers look just beautiful with it!

Fusible batting.... I do like the idea of no pinning/basting....

Oh Marit, It is beautiful! It is going to look gorgeous on your table! Well done!
If you like not having to pin baste, have you tried the 505 basting spray. I've had very good results with it (but only on smaller projects). Your should try it, I think you will like it better than the fusible batting.
Happy spring, happy Easter and happy sewing!

Just wondering Marit, what are your reservations with the fusible batting? I've never used it before. I hope you have a wonderful Easter!
