I have collected these honey, peach, pink modern prints - just waiting for the right opportunity. Wanting to show off the big prints, I started making disappearing 9 patch blocks. Sashing them in Kona Snow, and adding cornerstones in a grid. The design is a variation of a quilt I have made earlier. I like how big a difference the choice of fabric makes...
Her big smile was very reassuring, and I know the quilt has found a good home...
Sweet M is 48" * 65" with Quilters Dream select batting and baptist fans made by the talented Merete. I washed it before gifting it, to achieve the slightly crinkled texture.
We had a very lovely day with sweet M and her family. Seeing her joy was reassuring. I will keep making quilts as gifts. Wrapping the world in them, one person at a time...
; )
Big plans, small stitches...

What a lovely quilt, I'm not surprised she loved it since you made it especially. I really love the disappearing nine patch with sashing. I think you have a great idea for your labels there.
Another lovely quilty gift!!!
xx
I love your quilt,
all the fabrics together look so nice!
And the pattern with the sashing is a very good idea!
It really is a beautiful quilt just as your others are. I see why she liked it!
Hei!! Så heldig hun er!! Quilten er kjempefin!! Jeg får ikke sydd så mye om dagen!! Litt for mye jobb, som tar overskuddet til å sy.... Det er fint å la seg inspirere da!! Hilsen AnneKari:-)
Oh, wow! I love this. I have never seen a DNP done like this before.
KJempeflott teppe, Marit !
Fargene er bare helt knæsj !!
I love those colors together. I bet she loved it!!
A beautiful post and quilt. I've never seen the disappearing 9-patch done with sashing. It looks great! Yes, wrapping people in your love, one quilt at a time.
Great colors, and the thin sashing makes it look so different from other DNPs. Love your unique label!
Beautiful! I love the colors and design. She is a lucky girl.
Absolutely gorgeous gift!
Your label is really fun, Marit! What a great approach to the D9P....looks great. btw, do you still want o enter the I Spy Swap? Say yes, and I'll send you my address!
Great colours and the setting gives it a very modern look! Great job :)
What a beautiful quilt! It's no surprise that she loved it but I know that your heart beats a little quicker until you know if they loved their quilt...
Jennifer :)
PS... your embroidered label is so simple and smart!
Beautiful! Love the use of color! We formed a quilting club at church, and many are brand new quilters. We began with the 9-patch block and my girlfriend showed us her disappearing 9-patch as an alternative. Hip and pretty!
What a gorgeous quilt and I love your label idea. I might have to steal it...
Love your label!! And the quilt is delightful.
I'm a fan of DNP and this color combination. What a sweet label for a beautiful quilt!
