In Norway, the 4 sundays before christmas are celebrated lighting the "advent" candles. The first candle is lit on the first sunday of advent, then the second on the next, the third on the following sunday. When the forth candle is lit we all now that christmas is just around the corner. Here is a picture of the lights with my advent tablerunner in mostly batics. Four stars symbolising the four candles.
Lighting candles is one of my favorite things to do in this dark and cold month of desember...

Beautiful runner and sweet tradition. Is that a type-o or is that how December is spelled in Norway?
It's the light from the sewing machine that does it. Magic used to do the same until she got her bottom smacked!
I love candles too, only not just for Christmas.
Beautiful Advent runner, gives me an idea for a present for my sister for next year!
And what a great sewing buddy!
