Thank you all for giving me some good ideas on how to quilt this one! In the end I went for vertical straight lines. Lots of them...The quilt is around 40" by 60", maschine quilted with cotton batting. Looking through my stash, I found this 30's flowery pink backing, and I think it really complements the top.

One morning we woke up to a lot of snow. It's quite special to see snow resting on branches like this around here. Very peaceful, love it!
Another somebody resting peacefully. She's been on antibiotics since before christmas, and needs her rest to recover...

Wow! Your County Fair quilt is great...I LOVE it! And I love the quilting...it really suits the quilt. Your "straight" lines are straight enough to go with the graphic nature of the blocks, but organic enough to not be uptight about it all. I like!

a great idea to take cheater cloth yet still piece it. it's more like soft art than a wallhanging.
