Finished County Fair

Thank you all for giving me some good ideas on how to quilt this one! In the end I went for vertical straight lines. Lots of them...

The quilt is around 40" by 60", maschine quilted with cotton batting. Looking through my stash, I found this 30's flowery pink backing, and I think it really complements the top.

Wish I had better light for this picture...

One morning we woke up to a lot of snow. It's quite special to see snow resting on branches like this around here. Very peaceful, love it!

Another somebody resting peacefully. She's been on antibiotics since before christmas, and needs her rest to recover...
Wish you all a peaceful wekend, either you are busy og just taking it easy - take care!

Wow! Your County Fair quilt is great...I LOVE it! And I love the quilting...it really suits the quilt. Your "straight" lines are straight enough to go with the graphic nature of the blocks, but organic enough to not be uptight about it all. I like!

Your snow is beautiful...I love it when it's on the trees like that.

Hope your kitty is soon feeling good. Shade and Dunkel send purrs!

Your County Fair quilt is inspiring! you made me want to raid my stash (and my mother's, truth be told) for the fabrics to make one for myself...

Looking at your quilt gives me so many ideas. I love the straight line machine quilting. Your liberated squares are great.

I love the quirky nature of your blocks. Loads of fun. You're right, the backing fabric is perfect.

you'd never know that was cheater cloth...lovely job! i'm wondering what color thread you used.

a great idea to take cheater cloth yet still piece it. it's more like soft art than a wallhanging.

Wonderful quilt! Love the straight line quilting. I recently purchased the attachment for my walking foot, to make nice straight lines. After seeing your quilt, I can't wait to try it.

Hope kitty is well soon. My sister is a cat lover and has a blog (www.toomanytails.blogspot.com) with some great pictures of her cats.
