friday finish

This week I made another string bag, again using Ayumi's free pattern. It's a bit bigger (12" by 12") and still missing the string...

And there were left over, small scraps to be played with! So I made another small and scrappy improvised chinese coins.

These are fun to make! This is 15" by 15", hand quilted and sits on my coffee table. The lovely, dark chocolate sashing is a few 2.5" strips of thimbleberries found in my LQS. This fabric was dyed through, and I used the solid backside of it.

Funny how a few scraps can be so much fun! Do you save yours, or do you just bin them?

Wish everybody a nice weekend!

These are terrific! I have such a hard time throwing fabric away. I tend to save and do nothing with them except hoard them. Not very smart I guess---

Marit, I am really enjoying catching up with you and your lovely projects! :)
...but I am wondering why I feel like having a cup of hot chocolate as I see your lovely bags and runners... :)
Gorgeous quilting, by the way!

These are great! I am always inspired by your color and fabric combinations. Your hand-quilting is lovely too!

I do save my scraps. They've become my favorite part of the quilt-making process!

Great color combo, Marit. Baptist fans are one of my favorite quilting designs....and by hand...even better!

The quilt is sweet. I save almost everything. Which is a problem. Plus there was a few times I purchased a whole bin of scraps at the LQS - so needless to say I'm over the top with them. I do love them though. I'm making raggy rugs and scrappy leaders and enders that will be something someday.

I save my scraps. Although I have yet to make anything with them yet, it would break my heart to throw them away!

So elegant looking - lovely job! I usually chuck my scraps, but I'm inspired to keep them!

Oh Marit, your handstitching is to die for!! Love your little quilt and the fact that you used the backside of the fabric, well, that's just so cool!! And you probably already know what I do with my scraps. They get saved, every last one of them!

This turned out really beautifully. I just bought some chocolate fabric, hope my project (whatever it turns out to be) is as beautiful as yours.

Super cute! WHat a great way to use up those strips that are already sewn together. I keep them, but never know what to do with them.
