Mmmm finished at 57" * 72", long arm quilted in baptist fans by the lovely Anne. The batting is Quilters Dream Select, wonderful and soft.
This quilt is a total Homage a Gwen Marston. You may recognize it from her book "Liberated String Quilts". Her quilt is called Amish Rectangular String.
The quilt top was made in 2008 and blogged earlier.
It's quite vibrant. Not so easy to photograph inside on a very cold february morning.
It feels so good to shrink my stack of finished tops. Slowly, and one by one - that's my plan...
Right now I have a dozen quilt tops waiting in line. How tall is your stack?

Yum. I particularly like the yellow strip at the bottom. Works well. My quilt tops are too numerous to count but I am working on them!
Absolutely stunning Marit, I love the red and yellow frame around all that gorgeous colour. My stack is only about 9, though I'm sure there is some I have forgotten about! xo

I think my stack is 6 high. There are a couple from years ago that I'm really not interested in finishing. I think they'll get donated. Love your colors and the quilting is beautiful.

I am guilty of having too many unfinished quilts. I should do just what you did.. Start pulling them out one at a time so it is not overwhelming to me.

I really like it and those fans are great on it. I love that Marston book and the pictures of all the old string quilts. congrats on a great finish. I have at least six (sigh) waiting to be quilted by machine or hand.
Simply beautiful. I have never been a big fan of solids, but I am changing my mind, and this quilt is helping change me.
I have one quilt in the works and the fabric for three more that are in my head. What a joy!
So beautiful! But, really, you don't want to make me get out the surveyor's tape to measure up my pile of UFOs, do you? I'm happier to follow your example and work at my pile one quilt at a time, allowing sufficient time to revel in the satisfaction of a fine finish. And this latest quilt of yours is a truly fine finish! I'll say it again, Beautiful!

Love the quilt and the yellow across the bottom really adds a nice touch. I have only 1 flimsy waiting for me to purchase the batting, several wip's though.

Wonderful finish, Marit. I love quilts made with solid fabrics. Most of my UFO's are still piles of fabric!
That's a beautiful quilt. Solid colors can make a quilt look very modern I think. The same quilt done in muted tonals fabrics would have a softer, maybe country, feel. I love Gwen Marston and have a number of her books. And that's why I love the Yahoo Lib-Quilters Group.
