stars, stars, stars ...

Very inspired by the lovely and talented Kerry i have been diving into my small scraps for some scrappy stars. Wiping out the supply of the smallest pieces... These stars end up as a 6" block, the circle of stars at 22".

In may I also got to send out my pif to 9 lovely ladies:

The mug rugs are 6" * 9". And more stars are still on my to do list...

; )

Ya'll have a lovely sunday!

Also love you PIF gifts

Leaving the 9th star out of the center, as you did, truly creates the circle visual for this block....great idea, Marit. I've been wanting to do some sort of red/white/blue American patriotic quilt and this would be a smashing, I think. Thanks for sharing!

I have always wanted to do a "stars only" quilt and this one is amazing! I would never have thought to put them in circles!

I can't tell you how many blogs I follow, looking for inspiration or encouragement to lose myself int eh process of quiltmaking. It seems as though every idea has been turned over and relabeled as "new" without too much "new" actually happening. Then I bump into your post and I am stopped in my tracks. I love the way your stars twinkle in their wonkiness, their small size (much the way stars look to me in the night sky), and then to offset the angles by setting them in circles is pure genius. Thank you for a breath of fresh air! oh swoon!
