a show and tell with lots of pictures and a few words:
cool sixteen : 64" * 80" on hobbs thermore batting
gifted to a young man with a big smile, a big hart and a real understanding of the value of a quilt to go with the sofa...
pictures taken on a very sunny day
p.s. a great and easy pattern to play with colors. (This one uses 2.5" strips ending of with 2 8" blocks from 2 WOF strips.)

This is beautiful! I love the patterns with 'simple' squares! Great idea to use two colours for each block! x Teje
It's a fab quilt and sounds like it has gone to a pretty cool recipient!
Gorgeous! Can't go wrong with 16-patch. Made a small one in aquas a year or so ago... hmmm, might be time to make another. Love the large swirly quilting on yours.
I really like this one. I think I might like this pattern better than all the scrappy ones going around now.
wonderful quilt.
love the mix of prints and shades of blue -
What an awesome gift that is sure to be treasured! Nice addition of the turquoise fabrics, they add a zing to the quilt.

Very cool indeed!
Lekkert teppe! Flotte bilder! :)
This quilt would not only be something for a boy, it would have a lovely home over here, too. My colours. I've seen some quilts like this but didn't like the pattern very much. But this one: totally different. Maybe it's the colours and the fabrics you chose.
I didn't completely understand how to make this pattern, have to search for it, but I think I'll try it out, too. If only for one or two blocks for a quilt back.
Lovely pictures.
Greetings from Germany, Franziska
Yours looks AWESOME!
I absolutely love this. I am a huge fan of squares, and it is such a pleasure to see a more masculine quilt (I'm the only girl in this house!) It really is stunning, well done you.
Ohhhhhhh! What a pretty 16 patch, Marit. Again, I love your style so much!
