A new challenge, and a finished one...
How exiting - I have signed up for the Spring Quilt Swap

I just finished my first little wallhanging, that I posted about earlier, and put it up in the livingroom. I am so happy - it adds warmt to the room. This is one of my first quilts with woven fabrics, can't wait to start anotherone, the fabric is so pleasant to handquilt!
I also recieved a charm pack of Wee play in the mail - love these fabrics. And so it seems, I'm not the only one....

Winter Strawberries
I am happy to have completed my latest bigger quilt Winter Strawberries, that I started atumn of 2006. Sometimes the prosess takes a little time....
This is my own design. My intentions was to make a red quilt that would give a lot of warmt to the room around christmastime. I have changed and reworked the design several times, this quilt gave me a hard time - so I had to put it a way for a while. I have found that this helps when struggling with some design problem. So, a year went by, and new ideas came to my mind.
The quilt is made with log cabin blocks. When I assembled it on my floor, I realised it refused to lay flat. Ooops - major problem. I felt like giving up on it completely. Some advise from my friendly longarmowner at Kactus Quilts convinced me a gentle stretching on the frame would solve this problem. She did a great job, and like a miracle, its a flat quilt! I am not sure the picture reveals it, but the long sides are not straight. Anyway - who said it has to be perfect?
Lessons learned - take my time, let a project rest a while, and see if I can pick it up later.
Almost forgot to mention it - this quilt cleaned out most of my red fabric stash!

A little wallhanging
This is my first time using this tape as guidelines for quilting along. Its easy, and works out really nice. Hand quilting straight lines on a smaller quilt is less comlicated than I thought. Big smile....

On a rainy day
I have started working on a new quilt - on a rainy day. This time of the year is dark, cold and wet around here, and I feel the need for colour. I like these 5" charm packs, and have tried to come up with good design ideas for how to use them. Well, sometimes simple works for me...
I have cut the 5" charms in two lenghtwise, and added a grid of 1.0" solid white strips vertikal and 1.5" solid whitw strips horisontal. I really love these colourful 30´s prints!!! They are so cheerful, make me smile. I have finished the top at about 47" x 70". I am not sure how to quilt i though - any good ideas ???
I want to find some nice backing for it, too. Maybe something with a lot of white? I am conserned that dark fabric will show through... Hmm I guess I will take some time to find the right fabrics.
Here is a picture showing the complete top:
